Do you want to BE a successful trader?

Seriously

I ask this way, with the emphasis on BE for a very specific reason

Our lives and our experiences tend to be in alignment with our identity, our beliefs about ourselves

Especially our subconscious beliefs

Your subconscious tends to influence your actions to keep your life in alignment with your self-image

Otherwise you experience cognitive dissonance, which can be both stressful and uncomfortable

So how do you know what you subconsciously believe about yourself and your trading?

Just look at how things have been and how they are

If you've been struggling as a trader, it's because your actions have been in line with that of a struggling trader

You've heard of the notion, “Be, Do, Have”

You'll have the results of what you DO

What you do and how you do it will be the result of WHO you ARE – or at least subconsciously who you believe you are

In order to change your outcomes, you need to BE first

Successful traders do different things than the struggling traders

Instead of relying on your own experience and perspectives, do what successful traders (and successful people in general) do: 

We get a mentor or coach

When you're trying to teach yourself, you are limited by yourself

When you get the help of someone who's been there, and especially a mentor, you get to tap into their experience and and also those they've worked with

• You get to learn from their mistakes instead of making them yourself
• You get to shorten the learning curve and compress time
• You get to where you want to be a whole lot faster than figuring it out all alone
